JD Davis, 68, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. JD was born on February 12, 1950 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Nathaniel Lewis Davis and Arneatha Pearl (Robinson) Davis.
JD graduated from C.A. Johnson High School in 1968 and he attended Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he majored in Political Science. Moreover, JD received a B.S. /Advanced Studies from the Wharton Executive School of Business Training. JD was an Employee Training Manager for IBM in Atlanta, Georgia from 1988-2004; he worked as an Independent Training Consultant from 2004-2016, and as a Training Specialist Consultant for Morgan Stanley Brokers through Axion Learning Solutions, LLC until he passed away.
JD was a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. JD was also the founder of the Learning Depot, Incorporated, marketing, training, and consulting firm. JD loved to travel and to experience new places.
JD leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters and their husbands, A. Valencia Davis Hammonds of Blythewood, SC (Daryl Hammonds, Sr.) and Dr. Rynetta Davis-Simpson (Tobias Simpson) of Lexington, KY. J. D. also leaves two loving grandsons, Daryl L. Hammonds, Jr., of Florence, SC and Desmond L. Hammonds of Blythewood, SC. The following siblings also remain to cherish his memory: Nathaniel Davis of Columbia, SC, Carl Davis of Athens, GA, Freddie Davis of Jacksonville, FL, Gwendolyn (Benjamin) Colquitt of Fayetteville, NC, and Terricita (Phillip) Samuel of Columbia, SC. In addition, one great aunt, Mildred Johnson of Columbia, SC remains alive to cherish his memory. His sister, Nathalie Davis, preceded him in death.
