Mr. Freddie Leroy Burns

Freddie Lee Burns was born on November 4, 1955 to the late George and Mamie Lou Burns. He peacefully transitioned from his earthly body on June 12, 2019.

Freddie attended Brookland Cayce High School. After graduating he pursued his love of cooking and established his career as a chef.

Freddie, affectionately known as “Huggie Bear”, was loving and gentle to anyone he crossed paths with. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. His heart was full of love for everyone he encountered.

Freddie was preceded in death by his father, George Burns; mother, Mamie Lou Burns; and brothers, Nathaniel, Curnell, Earsley, Willie Ed, and George Burns.

Surviving are his wife, Vera Burns; children, Shamicka (Glen), Ashley, Gafayia and Maurice (Tasha); siblings, Katherine Lykes, Texie Harley, Queen (Thomaas) Wilson, Ruth (Bennie) Perry, James (Michelle) Burns, Robert Burns and JC (Leasher) Burns; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
