Welcome to the memorial page for

Mr. Emmett Scott

September 16, 1942 ~ September 16, 2018 (age 76)

Emmett Scott, son of the late Thomas and Annie Jordon Scott, was born on September 16, 1942 in the Pee Dee community of Horry County. On Sunday September 16, 2018, God in His infinite wisdom reached down with outstretched arms and beckoned Brother Scott to come home. God peacefully took his hand for He knew that He would lead him to the Promised Land where he would have eternal life.

After attending public schools in Horry County, Brother Scott moved to Columbia, South Carolina.  He was a loving husband, a father of one daughter, a long-time employee of Central Equipment until his retirement, and a faithful member of First Nazareth Baptist Church.  Brother Scott was an active member of the First Nazareth Sanctuary Choir where he mesmerized the masses with his melodic voice. He always greeted you with a joke and a smile. He was well loved by many.

Brother Scott leaves a legacy of love and devotion to God, his wife, Mary Scott; one daughter, Tiffany (Frank) Adams; one grandson, Remington Drakeford Scott Adams; one brother, Harold (Mary) Scott of Washington, D.C.; sister-in-law, Ruby Scott; a special niece, Sara Lee Brannon; two godchildren, Kendra and Joshua Cunningham; a special daughter, Diamond Trejo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and very special close friends.

Although Emmett is no longer with us physically, his loving and kind spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew him.
