Mr. Edward Lee Brown, Jr.

Edward Lee Brown, Jr. was born on February 2, 1941 in Harlem, New York to Edward Lee Brown, Sr. and the late Margaret Robinson. He departed this life on May 12, 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Edward attended school at Boys High School in Brooklyn, New York. He worked for the Long Island Railroad System for over 25 years as a supervising Block Operator and retired in 2002. Edward was a veteran of the United States Army where he received numerous honors and awards for achievements. He attended the military signal school and was one of the first computer operators for the military as computers where being implemented into the military.

Edward was united in holy matrimony to the former Gwendolyn Spencer on August 18, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York. The union was blessed with three children. Gwendolyn was the love of his life.

Edward was an avid participant on Facebook where he kept in contact with his many family members, friends, and members of the Funky Fresh Music listener club.

Edward is preceded in death by his mother, Margret Daily Robinson; and brother, Clyde Brown.

Edward is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Gwendolyn Brown; his sons, Gregory (Angela) Brown, and Gary (Ivete) Brown; his daughter, Tiffany Brown; two sisters, Delores and Kathy Brown; his father Edward Lee Brown, Sr.; step father, Irving Daily; grandchildren, Allen, Jamila, Gavin, Gabriela and Grant; a new great-grandbaby Graham whom he was very proud of and excited about; and a host of other family loving members and friends.
