Mr. David Jacobs, Jr.

David Jacobs, Jr. was born on October 29, 1934 in Lugoff, South Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his residence.

David was the second of four children born to David and Easter Jacobs. He married Leola Williams on August 25, 1958, and from this union four children were born.

David was educated at Dabner Pond School of Richland County and was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was well known for his carpentry skills and had a passion for hunting. He was employed by the City of Columbia at an early age. He later worked for the South Carolina Department of Youth Services until retirement. He continued to work part-time as a carpenter until he became disabled.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Leola Jacobs and his brother, Herbert McDuffie.

David leaves to cherish his precious memories his four children, Theresa Jacobs, David (Tamara) Jacobs, Carol (Theodore) Byrd all of Columbia, SC and Celeste Jacobs of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Horace (Barbara Ann) Jacobs of Columbia, SC and Odell Jacobs of Lugoff, SC; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Williams of McKinney, VA; three sisters-in-law, Anna Brown and Geneva Murray of Richmond, VA and Alice McDuffie of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren, Ashtyn Barr, MarShika Jacobs, David Jacobs, Ahraya Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, and Meagan Jacobs; one great grandchild, Kimaya Jacobs; one great aunt, Dorothy Patterson of Midlothian, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
