Bernard Edward Moore peacefully transitioned from his earthly journey to his heavenly home on May 19, 2018. He was born on March 19, 1933, in Quincy, Florida, to the late Cornelius “Bo” Moore and Lillie Mae Armstead in Quincy, Florida. He was the seventh of thirteen siblings.
Bernard received Christ at an early age under Reverend Bradford Alexander in Quincy, Florida at New Bethel AME Church. Bernard was educated in the public schools of Gadsden County. Upon completion of high school, Bernard enlisted in the United States Army where he reached the rank of Master Sergeant. He fought during the Vietnam War and toured in Korea, Germany, Okinawa and many other state side tours.
Bernard was joined in Holy Matrimony to Bernice Graham and from this union one child was born, Cynthia Moore Dowdy.
In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Bernice Graham Moore; three brothers, William DuPont Moore, Richard Moore, and C.L. Moore, Sr.; and two sisters, Leah Moore and Janet Wilson-Barnett.
He leaves to cherish his life and legacy, a loving daughter, Cynthia Moore Dowdy; five sisters, Amanda M. Gee, Tomecina Williams-Butler, Altomease M. Duncan, Mamie Byrd and Evelyn Graham; two brothers, Earnest (Mary) Moore, and Benjamin (Sarah) Moore; one sister-in-law, Annette Moore; three brothers-in-law, Anthony Jordan, Lewis Jordan, and Leon Jordan; one aunt, Martha Armstead; two close friends, Evant Jenkins and Wanda Pickett; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
