James will never have to face the last enemy death, ever again. In the meantime, his acts of faith live on until he stands up alive and whole in the Paradise. Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."

I was very saddened to hear that Mr. James had left us to go home. This earth will definitely be a mite dimmer without his gracious smile. I worked with Mr. James for many years at the US Forest Service. What a charmer he was with that ready smile and lovely spirit. Whenever I visited from the district office, he always called me to his desk and would have some little gadget or nifty pen to give to me since he was the ordering manger for the office. I remember him with extreme fondness and was looking forward to seeing him at one of the retirement dinners when I retire next year. May God wrap His arms around you all and bring you peace and comfort during this time of suffering.

Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you. Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. We will definitely miss him at Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was very passionate about the church and his work in the church. May God bless you all.

I was saddened to hear of James' passing and offer heartfelt condolences to family and friends. I worked with James at the USDA Forest Service and then went to many retirement luncheons he also attended. His spirit was strong and he always had a smile on his face and did all he could to help. But now "if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mr. James Marshall before he retired from the Forest Service in September 2007. He always had a smile on his face, and was a pleasure to work with and be around. He was such a snazzy dresser, with a humble spirit and soul! He had the most pleasant laugh and smile, he will be missed! God called, an Angel home!

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear loved one. To lose someone you love can be very painful. It can bring sadness and anxiety to our hearts. The Bible provides comfort to ease those feelings. 1 Peter 5:7 says: While you throw all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. Also Isaiah 41:10; Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you. I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness. May these and other scriptures (Psalm 34:18, Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:3,4) comfort and encourage you during this time of bereavement. For more comfort please visit our website:jw.org.

Deacon James Marshall was one of the most loving and gracious men I have ever had the privilege of knowing. He was cemented in the love of God and Jesus and devoted his life sharing God's love though his actions in the church and community. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Ethel and God blessed them with nineteen years of marriage. Because of him the world was a much better place. He will never know how much he will be missed and loved by so many.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts. A beautiful soul, full of love and faith ascended to heaven away from us, but closer to God, that he truly loved without reservations. Please accept my most sincere condolences.
